2015 'Block 4' Chenin Blanc


Aromas of fresh lemon, grapefruit and pear with underlying vanillin oak. Dry, fresh acid structure with ripe white nectarine and yellow fruits such as lemon and pear. A lovely rich texture on the mid palate, originating from time ‘on lees’ and barrel fermentation. This wine has been made in the French 'Vouvray' style so is well suited to many foods like white meats and pasta with creamy sauces.  Also very good with Asian food.


This is a mighty good attempt at bringing another dimension to the standard chenin blanc. Gets natural fermentation and 9 months on lees to bring in texture and complexity. Has a creamy Vouvray character and with that natural chenin acidity, makes for a mighty good wine. A slightly more restrained version to the previous year. 93/100 - RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2017

The 2015 'Block 4' Chenin Blanc is a new release and the follow-on vintage from the highly successful 2014 'Block 4' Chenin Blanc, which claimed: "WINNER - 'BEST OF THE WEST - CHENIN BLANC" 93/100 - RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2016

The 2014 vintage also attracted Huon Hooke's attention:
