Wine & Vine Update February 28 2019

Vintage has officially begun with the Aravina team gathering for early morning grape picking and a winery tutorial from Chief Winemaker Ryan Aggiss on crushing the first of our Chenin blanc.

The hand-picked chenin will be used for the base of our premium sparkling and some verjus for the Chefs to work their magic with.

This week at Cellar Door we released a bold and exciting new 2016 Wildwood Ridge Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon to replace the much-loved and highly-acclaimed 2014 vintage. The impressive new release 2016 Cab Sav recently won best wine in show at the Western Australian Boutique Wine Show 2018 and is already a popular seller.

Perhaps the most exciting activity of late has been the completion of our ultra-premium 250t winery with a focus on small batch winemaking that will showcase this great vineyard.

This winery will truly complete our story of estate grown, estate vinified, and estate bottled wines.

We expect to see around 260t of premium fruit from the vineyard this year and 85t of that will be processed in our brand-new winery!

Total 2019 production will be around 8000 cases and some cool new wines will be showing up at cellar door soon.
