Here at Aravina Estate, the team wishes you a wonderful Easter break filled with peace, love, family and friends. It is a time for relaxing, enjoying our beautiful Busselton-Margaret River Region and for welcoming the warm, sun-filled Autumn Season.

With the last of our award winning Cabernet grapes picked this week, Aravina will be celebrating the start of our wine making year and inviting you to sample amazing cuisine presented by Tony Howell and Ben Jacob in the Aravina Restaurant and Riviera Bar.

It is one of our busiest times of the year down south and the restaurant is almost fully booked but please sure to visit as we have plenty of exciting options to keep all the family entertained throughout the weekend.

Enjoy a relaxed share platter and a glass of wine in the Riveria Bar, the hottest new venue in town. With a bespoke cocktail list and Taj Burrow's Honest Ale for beer lovers, it is the perfect spot to spend a lazy afternoon.

Alternatively we are thrilled to have the Margaret River Burger Company return to our lawns. Enjoy a juicy buger out in the sunshine and a bottle of wine from our pop up wine bar down by the glistening lakes.

In collaboration with Barbagello Motors there is a special treat for car enthusiasts with two stunning Maseratis on display amidst the picturesque gardens. Be sure to look out for a striking black Levante and a classic black Ghibli on display for the long weekend only.

Finally be sure to check out the WA Surf Gallery. Opening in December it has had an incredible response from the public and the surfing community alike. Don't miss this retrospective following the history of Western Australia's surfing culture from early days to the present.

Happy Christmas from Aravina Estate

From everyone here at Aravina Estate we would love to wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, joyful and relaxing festive season. It is a time for enjoying the company of loved ones, family and friends and sharing the seasons merriment and cheer.

It has been a very busy year and December seems to have crept up at a very fast pace! Aravina Estate is open every day in the lead up to Christmas, along with our fantastic Pop-Up space under the restaurant that looks out over our beautiful gardens. We have a wide range of Christmas hampers, homewares, food and wine accessories, books and many more ideas perfect for last minute Christmas gifts for those stocking fillers.

Visit today and tick one thing off the list - afraid we won't be able to help with the Christmas turkey though!

Aravina's New Summer Menu by Executive Chef Ben Day

 

Aravina Estate’s new menu is a celebration of the season with lighter, healthier dishes that reflect the essence of Summer. The influence of the warmer weather and the dry Australian heat can be seen in the techniques and flavour profiles in dishes such as barbequed kingfish, smoked mussels and charred asparagus.

The relationship between weather, food and wine is inseparable. “When Summer is on the horizon it’s all about what we can cook as the season changes, and what the wines will taste like with the fresh intake of produce”. Ben has worked closely with Aravina’s Chief Winemaker Ryan Aggiss to create dishes that showcase and work perfectly with the different varietals that the estate’s 30 year old vines produce from the outstanding terroir.

To get the appetite going here is a sneak preview of the delights on offer. See above for barbequed kingfish with teriaki glaze and a miso yuzu sauce matched perfectly with our Vermentino. To the left are starters to whet your palate before mains of Berkshire pork cutlet with vadouvan spiced apple and below is the caramelised pumpkin with parmesan curd, charred asparagus and pear salad. Aravina's Recent Wine Successes

 

Aravina Estate has had some exciting recent news in the world of wine.

Aravina Estate's Wildwood Ridge Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 picked up the honour of Highly Recommended in the international fine wine magazine, Decanter in their January 2017 edition.

Additionally it was rated 95 points in the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion.

"The beautiful flavours of Margaret River cabernet. They set sail here. Blackcurrant, gravel, bay leaves and dark chocolate. It's medium to full-bodied but the kicker in the finish, which extends deliciously but firmly on. A grand future awaits. A serious quality contender."

Also highly rated in Halliday with 94 points was Aravina Estate's Margaret River Shiraz 2014

"Both slippery smooth and peppery with black cherry,
asphalt and clove notes combining to put on quite a
show. Creamy oak adds velvet to the parade of
savoury flavours. Tannin is beautifully massaged and
the length is excellent. Much to recommend it."

Ray Jordan's Western Australian Wine Guide 2017 had great accolades for Aravina as well. The Wildwood Ridge Reserve Chardonnay 2014 took home 95 points, Wildwood Ridge Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 gained 92 points, Single Vineyard Block 4 Chenin Blanc was well received with 94 points and our juicy 'A Collection' Shiraz Tempranillo came in with a solid 90 points.
