Aravina Estate releases the 2015 ‘A’ Collection Chenin Blanc and 2014 Single Vineyard Shiraz March 02 2016
Aravina Estate’s latest release wines, the 2015 ‘A’ Collection Chenin Blanc and the 2014 Single Vineyard Shiraz are distinctive expressions of these varietals from the Margaret River region.
The 2015 ‘A’ Collection Chenin comes from a vintage where whites in the northern sector of the Margaret River region benefitted from early ripening before dual environmental factors contributed to notable fruit loss in the vineyard. Fruit intensity at harvest was good, as was natural fruit acidity.
The resultant wine is pale lemon to the eye and fruit driven with balanced acid.
The wine gives aromas of melon, lime and preserved lemon, with underlying fresh pear. The wine exhibits fresh lime and quince flavours, with a hint of flint and sweetness, balanced by a fresh, crisp finish.
This is a crisp, lighter, ‘drink now’ style wine that can be enjoyed alone or accompanied by food. The off-dry style lends itself to being enjoyed with spicy dishes.
The 2014 Single Vineyard Shiraz is a rich, spicy wine with generous fruit, well-rounded tannins and good length. This wine has rich aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanillin spice and white pepper, with plum and black fruits.
The 2014 Single Vineyard Shiraz ripened in warm, dry and sunny conditions. The excellent growing conditions resulted in a wine displaying vibrant fruit aromas and flavours, great colour and a well-balanced tannin profile.
All fruit in this Shiraz hails from 30-year old vines at Aravina Estate’s Yallingup vineyard.
The wines are currently released at the RRP per bottle of:
